The No. 02 Opinel carbone steel pocket knife is the knife that started it all.
Joseph Opinel first designed and patented the knife in 1890.

Opinel Stainless Steel Maintenance and Usage

It is recommended to grease the knife with cooking oil before closing the knife (this prevents oxidation).
Cleaning in the Dishwasher
Pocket knives (folding knives): Caution! Pocket knives should not be washed in the dishwasher to avoid permanent damage
Kitchen and table knives (fixed knives): Hand wash is recommended to maintain the quality of your OPINELs.
However, if you prefer to wash in the dishwasher, we recommend dishwasher powder instead of all-in-one tablets.
As soon as the wash is finished, remove the blades from the dishwasher.
